MacGregor Point

This is a commission piece that I just finished for a client.  MacGregor Point is a provincial park in Ontario and although I have never been there, the client provided me with a couple of great photos to draw inspiration.  Admittedly I am not a huge fan of commissions.  Mostly I think of the pressure to please someone else instead of myself.  And the stress associated with the client not being pleased with the final result.  I decided to do this piece anyway because as soon as I saw the photos, my mind interpreted them
as a finished art piece.  I always stress artistic license with the client in every painting.  My goal is never to mimic a photo, but rather to capture the feeling of the moment.  In this case, the end result was to capture the wind.  It's the first thing my husband commented on when the piece was finished and from where I'm standing, that meant . . . success!
